I think we ought to start planning to make it over to the Century 16 after a little BBQ at Rudy's on or after July 29. There's gonna be some cowboys that might need a little back up! I have to admit, this one sounds a little strange to me, but the posse has always had a good time when we've gone to the movies before...

I have no doubt that 3 Reds and I could handle a star-ship or two full of hostile aliens all by ourselves, but it would be nice to have a little back up. Who else is interested?
I figured we might meet at Rudy's first, to get our strength up. We might need to be well fed if we're going to have to kick some alien butt, or whatever aliens have to kick! Rudy's is handy to the theater and I think everyone has enjoyed their food and atmosphere, in the past. Verdadero

"Cowboys and Aliens" opens on July 29, a Friday. Show times are 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM. If it meets with everyone's approval, I'd suggest that we meet at Rudy's at 5:30 PM, for a little BBQ and fellowship, before headin' down the road to see the movie. This is just my suggestion. If a different date, time, or restaurant works better for the majority, that's fine with me.
It might be a good idea to send an email out to our members to try and reach as many as we can.

That sounds like a good plan to me. Wandering Man and I will be at Rudy's at 5:30.
Badger, can you send an e-mail out to everyone?

Hey guys, don't eat too much BBQ. I want you thinking straight when you head into the theatre. If not you mind up watching the Smurf's movie which also airs Friday.

OK, so who invited TS Don to the party?
I don't think he even owns a cowboy hat ...
... Slickers anyone?

So far, it doesn't sound like Don is going to amount to much, but those storms can fool you! Are we still good to go for tomorrow?
I bought a slicker before Comancheria Days, because some were predicting a chance of rain. I might get to use it for real this time! Unless Don takes a turn for the worse, I'm planning on eatin' BBQ and watchin' a western!

3Reds and I are still a go. We'll keep an eye out on the storm.
60 mph predicted may mean someone will be running after a loose hat in the parking lot, but otherwise, no one will get blown away.
I might put a few rocks in 3Reds' pockets, just to be sure.

Not to give away the ending, but the Cowboys won! We had a great time last night and attracted a lot of attention. Snoopy Doyle worked the crowd, introducing us to everyone within ear shot. Small children tried to run, but were lassoed and brought by for introductions. We were accosted by several movie go-ers for photos in our seats, in the aisles, and in the parking lot. We obliged, and made a lot of people smile. One of the city slickers commented that we made the movie more fun for them. Speaking of slickers, none were needed, and no cowboy lost his or her hat to the winds of Don. We had a great time! I can't wait for Hollywood to crank out another Western. I didn't see any on the horizon in the previews. My idea for attending Conan The Barbarian in our loin cloths and cowboy hats fell flat. So I guess we'll wait for the next great Western to make its run through CC. -WM
