Hey Dusty LawDog!
What have you got in store for us this month?
How many stages, rounds, etc.?
Any extra fun scheduled?
If anyone here knows how to contact him, would ask him to join our little gang and post a reply?
Thanks

Wandering Man, I have worked up six stages, (5 plus a bonus sixth). 60 rifle, 60 pistol and 14 plus shotgun. I am considering a side match for long rifles and one fun stage but I don't want to push it because of the heat. Let me know if you have any thoughts or suggestions. By the way Rank N Rotten and Snoopy Doyle are up to be the villan of the month (one or both). Dusty Lawdawg

Sounds like we are in for a treat!
I think you came up with a couple of good choices for the Bad Guy.
Thanks DL.

Hey, Dusty, Sounds good to me! The more shooting the better! Without spoiling the surprise, are you thinking about a rifle side match with our match rifles or big bore rifles? Either way, it sounds like fun! Verdadero

Six stages sounds great to me! Looking forward to it. Let me know if you need help moving targets around.

I can set up the big buffalo down in the creek bottom, that should be a little over 100 yards. We could also set up another one at 50 yards or so for our main match rifles, if this is what Dusty wants. Just let me know.

Ha! Whatever "prowess" I might have has come from firing my "new Sharps" 3 times, at a rock, about 30 yards away! I hope to change that between now and the July shoot; however! The grain has been cut on the home place and I can set up a target however far out I want...
I only have the factory open sights, so I'll try 100 yards and see how that goes.

A hot time was had by all!!! There was a lot of smack going on about Rankin' Rottin' and Mis Cheryl. Seems Rankin' went out of control and held up at Mis Cheryl's place for a while. But Ol' Snoopy Doyle was on the job and finally brought him down. Chow was great, so was the company. We had Lucky 13 shooters plus one guest came buy to watch. Dusty Law Dog wrote some great scenarios. He was accused of stealing material from Stinkin' Badger. The stages were a bit of a challenge, but the bonus round (stage 6) had a nice suprise. If you shot the bonus stage clean, you were granted a 5" deduction on ALL stages. Four of our shooters did just that: Col Mack, Dream Chaser, Professor Bones, and Verdadero. The nice thing was to watch Verdadero shoot that last stage at "normal" speed. If he had missed, we would have been able to keep count. Col Mack shot a clean match. Oh! Dream Chaser is next month's Match Director. Those of us in attendance voted to let her start the match at 9:00 A.M. By the time we finished the last stage, it was after 1:00, and my truck said the temp was 102. If we had taken the vote after the shooting, I think we would have voted for 8:00 A.M. See ya down the trail. If it works correctly, you should be able to click on the last one and watch the video. Otherwise, just enjoy the pic. -Wandering Man

Dusty Lawdawg put on a good match. I really enjoyed the scenarios and there were some shooting sequences that we don't shoot very often...great match!
Once again, Janet out did herself on the meal. I don't have much of a "sweet tooth", but if I'd had a cold glass of milk, I believe I could have eaten all those brownies by myself!
I do believe we need to move our match time to 9:00 AM. If that time works out okay, once we have adjusted to it, we might consider adjusting the time for June, July, and August to 8:00 AM. At 2:00 PM this afternoon, after shooting the match, it sounded like a really good idea!
Thanks again, to all, for making it a great match!

Ditto on a good match to shoot. Only things we needed were more wind with less heat and new rope on the shotgun knockdowns. We probably lost at least 30 minutes to shotgun re-setting. Likely run about $10 per knockdown to get new rope but we need it badly. Anyhow, as others said the shooting, the companionship, and the food were great, once again.

I agree, Lawdawg did a great job. I found a package of new rope in the storeroom yesterday so that should take care of the shotgun targets. Dream Chaser, I think that maybe you and Lawdawg have both put in for the August match director. If so, then ya'll get together and decide. You both put on a great match. See ya'll then.

Brushy, That's great that you have enough shotgun rope. Sure will help speed things up. As far as the August MD position it seems like Dusty Law Dawg is on a roll so I say let's let him do it again. I enjoyed this July's match he MDed and expect to enjoy the one he puts on for August as well.
