Dreamchaser is in charge, I think!
What insights can you give us to the shoot?
How much ammo?
Any special side matches or fun stuff, like shooting logs or cards in half?
Whatever it is, I'm looking forward to it.

Well, now that you ask......I had forgotten the card splitting. Maybe I will bring my card holder and we can do that after lunch. I am planning on six stages. Knowing it will be hot, if they want to break after 5 or so and have lunch that's fine. For six stages I'm looking at 60 pistol, 61 rifle, and 18+ shotgun.....for the card splitting have at least 5 extra rounds of pistol. Heck if there is time and interest we can also shoot it with the rifle. Also, a heads up to forum members. All the stages are pretty straight up where what you do with the rifle is what you do with the pistols. One can number the stages either left to right or right to left. A hint on one stage (for forum people only.....if someone else wants to know have them check the forum)....on one stage there will be two pistol targets perhaps 4 or 5 feet apart and the same for rifle. These two targets will be engaged in the order T1,T2, T1, T1, T1, T2, T2, T2, T1, T2. Wrap your head around that. Actually it makes a perfect situation for a pistol change for us non-gunfighters. I like it because it sees if you can do one shot and move to a target and later due a string of 3 shots. Bring your water, sports drinks, pedialyte or whatever keeps you hydrated and come out and have fun.

Many thanks to Dreamchaser for an EXCELLENT (but hot) match.
Dreamchaser was excellent as match director. She arrived Friday afternoon and worked from 3:30 to 7:30 preparing the stages for us. She was back at 7:30 this AM adding finishing touches.
She even brought her portable fan to cool down the R/O's while they sweated at their jobs.
We had 19 brave shooters out to defeat the heat today. The heat got some of us, but ten were still standing (or waddling after an excellent brisket lunch) to split cards with pistols and to finish the 6th stage.
3Reds, Mainspring, Buckshot Sully, and Gato Loco all split at least one card sideways with their pistols. There may have been others. You can expect to see the cards proudly displayed on hats during the next couple of shoots. I apologize if you split a card and I did not mention your name. Somebody should have been keeping score!
If there is a sharp-shooting card-splitter who did not get mentioned, would someone please post their name?
My truck said it was 101 degrees as we left the ranch this afternoon. I am thankful for airconditioned trucks and homes.
