Just wanted to brag a bit about my new gun cart.
I've got E.T., Dream Chaser, and 3Reds to thank for pushing me in the direction of buying the Rugged Gear gun cart.
It doesn't look very cowboy, but I imagine most cowboys didn't run around pushing gun carts, anyway.
I made my old cart easier to push around by swapping out the old rear wheels for new, bigger ones. And then I added a front wheel.
It did pretty good at Gamble Gulch. I could push it over most of the terrain, but still struggled a bit when I hit a hole or a rock.
The problem occurred when we were loading our trailer for the trip to Comfort. The new wheels wouldn't roll down the aisle of the fifth wheel when the slide was in, and I couldn't park the thing in the back like I used to.
Dream Chaser had told 3Reds and I about E.T.'s cart. When I expressed my frustration to 3Reds, she suggested we go with the folding cart. A call to Dream Chaser got us to the right company. A call to Rugged Gear let us know which vendor was supposed to be at Comancheria Days, and a call to Cowboy Shooters Supply in Oklahoma let us know that NO,the were not going to make it this year.
This was on Monday, before the match, and the cart could not be shipped to us before we left town.
BUT, CSS offered to have the cart delivered to our campground. It arived Thursday morning before we went to the Match. It was relatively easy to assemble, and now, I love the cart.
It rolled easily over the rocks and hills at the match, it has pockets for everything we needed, and it even came with a cover, in case of rain.
Brushy has taken our old cart out to Gamble Gulch, so now the club has a "courtesy cart" for new folks to use, or even for old folks to borrow.
