Avatars
Avatars are visual representations of you that you can see under your name in the left hand column when you post. They are a great way to personalize your presence on the forum. And they let folks know at a glance who it is that is posting.
The Avatar can be anything you like, a cartoon picture or a real picture of yourself, your dog, or your favorite super-hero.
If you'd like to add an Avatar, start by clicking on "Profile" up at the top of the page.
Then click on "Modify Profile"
Scroll down to where it says "Avatar"
You can select one of the cartoon figures already available, or you can add one of your own.
To add your own picture, you will need to have the photo you have in mind already loaded onto a photo website, like photobucket or fliker.
Once you've posted your picture onto the photo website, copy the URL (web address) of the photo.
Then paste that address into the AVATAR URL box.
You'll notice that there are options for Avatar Width and Height. You may need to adjust these numbers so your Avatar does not look too skinny or too fat.
For my Avatar, I set the numbers at 75 for width and 60 for height. Without widening and shortening the picture a bit, it looked too tall and skinny.
Be sure to click on Modify Profile when you finish.
If your not happy with your Avatar, you can always go back and change it, replace it with a new one, or adjust its size.
Enjoy!
