Not sure if this should be on teaching tips or general, but has anyone ever tried one of these pistols? We had a blast last time and are trying to figure out what pistols to get ourselves. The price range on this particular SAA is hard to pass up, and we are having a hard time finding any negative reviews on them. The only complaint that we have found is that the cartridges are recessed in the cylinder, so its hard to distinguish which chambers are loaded or not. Other than that, everything seems fine on this particular model. Here is the Davidson's page on the gun(http://galleryofguns.com/genie/default.aspx?item=770095), and a review of it also(http://www.gunblast.com/Paco_WineRoses.htm). Thanks again for having us out there! Looking forward to attending the next match.
Thanks, The Barkers

Hey, Cody! Welcome to the forum and Cowboy Action Shooting. I think, the Bounty Hunters marketed by EAA have been pretty solid guns over the years, but I believe they have been made by more than one manufacturer. I just scanned over the links you posted. EAA is listing the gun is manufactured in Italy. I think Pietta is currently making the Bounty Hunter for EAA. Pietta has modernized their manufacturing facility and they are making some pretty good guns. I believe the gun in the article was made in Germany.
Cowboy Action Shooting is hard on equipment. These six shooters weren't designed to be cycled and fired as fast as we try to push them. Rugers are practically "bullet proof". You can't hardly break one and if you do, Ruger will repair it...usually for free. Even if you buy a used one, Ruger will fix it if necessary. There is a gun show in Robstown this weekend, I think. That would be a good time to look around.
I live in Bishop and we have a pretty nice gun shop, located on Highway 77 Bypass...Outdoor Country. The last time I was in there, I counted 27 (I think) single action handguns. I doubt any shop in this area has that many single actions. I don't know what brands or calibers they had, but it would be a good place to look and handle a few guns.
I have Ruger Vaqueros (old and new models) and Ruger Blackhawks. If you are interested and can make it over to Bishop, I'd be glad to let you try them out. Good luck with your decision. Verdadero

Thankyou very much for the input Verdadero. Professor Bones let us try out his vaqueros, and they had a great feel. We usually go to the Saxet show in San Antonio, but there are rarely any cowboy vendors there. I have never been to the one in Robstown, but am going to give it a shot this weekend.
Thanks again,
Cody
