The Defending Old Fort Parker match is a great one with targets as big as your tv and just as close to you. This year it is 9/29 to 10/2. My guess is the last day is the man on man, team shoot, and couples shoot and last year I think only about 8 people stayed for that. The match itself had 140 shooters and was fun. They have stages that are very opened ended as to how you shoot them. For those of you with campers there are camping spots (limited electric spots) and for the rest of us there are barracks and two towns within 15 miles to stay at. I think those of us who went last year had a great time and I hope more of us make it this year. www.oldfortparkerpatriots. com is the website but details are not up yet. |

Words out that you can enter DOFP the day of the match. For you long range shooters that is Thursday of next week and for us regular people that will be Friday. Fun match to attend for sure.

Once again the Fort put on a really great match. Enjoyed it last year and enjoyed it even more this year. The side matches were fun as were the couples shoot, team shoot, and man-on-man. Shot the couples shoot with Dutch Diablo and although we did not win it was a blast. Snoopy Doyle was one of my team shoot partners and the poor fellow had to wait for me to tag him because after I shot my shotgun I just stood there thinking I was finished. It was a hoot! We had a good posse and I can not say enough good things about the match.

I am glad you had a great time. Maybe Wandering Man and I will be able to go next year.
