I got my confirmation today for Comancheria Days, May 12 - May 15, 2011. Last year we had a good representation from the TRP and I think all had a great time. The match filled up early last year and is expected to do so again this year. Rooms are difficult to get if you wait too long, as there is always something going on in Fredericksburg.
If you are thinking about going to a major match, this would be the one to make. I hope all that made the shoot last year will be returning, along with some other members from our club.
After all, how often do you get to compete in a State Championship?

Janet and I will also be there. Hope we get a good turnout of our club members. We defiently need to have a practice meet before the big match. I'm thinking the weekend before, bring as many guns and as much ammo that you wish to shoot. We can set the stages as to what we can expect at the State shoot, practice and make a fun day out of it. (One of the great advantages to having our own private place to shoot.)

That's a super offer. I plan to be there. I would ask that you turn on the lights so I can shoot all day and all night but I think I have to be back the next day for our club match. Anyhow, the heads up on it now prepares me to get some ammo loaded.

We're POSSE 3 (except ET is not with us).
From those who have shot with us there are 3 Reds, Blackjack Betts, Bolo Bob, Brushy Creek Bill, Me, Dutch Diablo, Major James, Verdadero, Wandering Man, and Yosemite Sal.
I don't remember who the other people were but we do have a real good lady shooter on our posse, Ms. Laurie Darlin. That's cool

We had a great time at the match.
Dream Chaser took honors by winning 4th place in the Ladies 49er category.
Major James was on the First Place Team in the Team Shooting competition.
3Reds and Wandering Man (!) made it through to the second round in the Master Gunfighter competition. 3Reds defeated one of the fastest cowboys on the range that day.
Can someone remind me of that young fella's name?
Then she lost in the second round to Texas Ghost.

It was a great match and I really enjoyed shooting with our posse!
3 Reds went up against Colt Faro in the first round! He's a mighty strong competitor. He won 3rd place in the Wrangler category and was 8th overall for the match! The fellow she lost to (Texas Ghost) made it all the way to the final round against a very fast shooter by the name of Waterloo. Texas Ghost, shooting duelist, made a real match of it...getting the jump on Waterloo with his pistols and keeping the lead right up to the last couple of rifle shots. Waterloo hit the stop target a fraction of a second before Texas Ghost and the targets actually scrapped one another as they fell...Waterloo won Master Gunfighter for the second year in a row. All this to say...3 Reds stood up to some pretty awesome competition!
I thought Wandering Man and Major James did quite well in the Man on Man competition, too. Congratulations to all!

Then she lost in the second round to Texas Ghost. -WM You failed to mention that I defeated him because he shot one of my targets and was disqualified. It was still fun shooting against such accomplished shooters. |
