Our next VALLEY VAQUEROS Match Day is Sunday, February 13th. Setup time is 9am with official start time at 10am. Bring your own appropriate drinks and bring your friends. Bring plenty of Rifle Ammo as we are planning on having a “stump shoot” as a side event.
The Corpus club shoots the 2nd Saturday of the month which generally means the Sat before our shoot. A good match and good people every time. Info can be found at: www.trpistoleros.com
At Lockhart (SE of Austin) the Plum Creek Shooting Society will put on a bigger than usual match called “Ride with Pancho Villa” on the 4th, 5th, and 6th of March. Last year they had about 65 shooters. Info at: www.pcss.org/shooting/Shooting.html
Towards the end of March there is a Yearly Match, Trailhead, put on by the Texas Historical Shootist Society at Columbus (between San Antonio and Houston). Last year they had about 136 shooters. At Fort Parker (between Groesbeck and Mexia) on Sat April 2nd there will be a special All Day Fundraiser Match (to make money to build more stages) which includes 6 stages plus side matches. Saving the best for last, the Texas State Championship will again be held by the Texican Rangers at Fredericksburg. Match dates are May 11th thru 15th. If you can’t make all of it the main match is ont eh 13th and 14th. Expect about 300 shooters. If you don’t enter early you may not get entered. For more info go to: www.texicanrangers.org
