My pleasure.
And thanks to Dreamchaser who served as back up and behind the scenes resource as you and Bolo Bob wound your way through the aisles of the Austin gun show.
BTW: Dreamchaser wants to know if your Marlin has a brother.

Is it time for a bigger gun safe? Does this mean you're ready to consider a second safe in the house? ;D -WM

Blackjack Betts, Congratulations! Ya'll got a good gun! Marlins are easy to maintain, they're dependable, and will run plenty fast! If and when you are ready, a one piece firing pin and spring set from someone like Long Hunter will really make a big difference in the way the gun cycles. The two-piece firing pin that comes in a Marlin is something of a safety feature, so be sure you ask someone knowledgeable about that and make sure you are comfortable in changing to a one piece firing pin, if you think you might want to do that. I personally am not concerned about changing out the firing pins and have done so on all of my Marlins. I think most folks that shoot Marlins, eventually change the firing pin/springs. It's a good idea to shoot a hundred rounds or so through the gun before changing springs and such. Welcome to the game and good luck with that Marlin! Verdadero

Thanks Verdadero . . . I'll pass on the info to my hubby. This is our 2nd Marlin in 2 months.
We hope to come to your October shoot so maybe we'll get to say thanks in person.

3Reds - funny you would mention that. . . Bolo Bob has suggested it is time I take my other trinkets out of the safe to give him more room.

Yeah Verdadero but did you notice how SMOOTH Wandering Man was in approaching 3 Reds about another safe. He said something like "Honey, does this mean you are about ready to consider another safe" instead of the normal "Honey, we need another safe. Everything is so crowded and we can not get to what we need in there half the time". Now we know....Wandering Man is one smooth operator. Next thing he does is wait till Christmas and when 3 Reds says "Honey, what do you want for Christmans" he will reply. "Another gun safe, for the two of us, honey."
